The Town Council recently adopted an ordinance allowing the use of golf carts on the Town Streets. A copy of the Ordinace may be seen at the Clerk Treaurer's office any time during regular office hours

  • Property Acquistion    

     The Town of Wanatah wishes to announce the recent acquisition of property from Consolidated Rail Corporation. The Town Council of Wanatah wishes to thank the Consolidated Rail Corporation for their support and their civic commitment in this matter.

    The newly acquired property, which was once part of the Pennsylvania to Monon Railroad spur that serviced the Wanatah Mercantile Elevator, boarders to the east of the Wanatah Historical Society Caboose Museum.

     

    This project was initiated in 2005 when the Wanatah Historical Society asked the Town Council for permission to construct a proposed museum campus on property owned by the Town and which was once property of the Monon Railroad. The Council granted that request and then started the process to acquire the property.

    Plans for the property include a replica of the Monon Depot which once stood on the property to be used as a historical museum.

  • Town Yard Waste Disposal Site
     The Town yard waste disposal site will be available for all Town resident for disposal of bio-degradable yard waste. The site will be opened only when the gates are open, usually during regular work hours. If the items you are leaving are in bags, please dump the bags and take the bags with with you to dispose in your household waste disposal cans.
